I’ve said it before. I’ll say it again: Fiction is still stranger than truth, by a country mile.
Here is a partial synopsis of a recent episode of Passions, as reported in the Times Free Press’ Soap Opera Review:
Kay forced Tabitha to admit Siren is a mermaid, not a human.
To belabor the vacuous, wouldn’t Siren live in the sea if she were a mermaid? I suppose you could paddle around near the shore, chatting with other swimmers, for a while, but eventually somebody is going to invite you to Steak n Shake and you’re going to have to get out if you wish to continue the conversation. That would mean revealing that you have scales and a tail rather than legs and feet. It would, in sum, be obvious if Siren were not human. So why is Kay so intent on forcing Tabitha to admit it?
