Metro Chatt: Fuel for thought

Filed by Michael Davis

Bernie Miller repeated one word today to describe a method to pass the county’s emissions test —; proven.

Dr. Miller, a local pastor who is running for the Hamilton County Commission, shared the technique during an editorial board meeting at the Chattanooga Times Free Press.

“We need to educate the people on how to pass this emission testing,” he said. “Go buy a can of STP gasoline treatment. When you get down to (empty), put in super, run off with the super unleaded, fill it up and wait. … Go through half of a tank or so. Make sure the engine is hot when you go in there.”

“And when you go in with those things taken care of, you will pass every time, unless there is some sort of a computer error —; that light that comes on. If there’s a computer light that comes on, you’re going to fail every time even though there’s no emission problem.”

Dr. Miller then was asked if he used this method to pass the test.

“Proven,” he said. “I’m telling you it’s proven.”
