Hamilton County Mayor Claude Ramsey today unveiled a $533 million budget for fiscal year 2007 that includes no tax increases and no fee increases.
Most agencies are at the same funding level as last year, he told the Hamilton County Commission, and county employees will receive a 3 percent raise on average.
The commission is expected to vote on the budget June 21.
“We held the line on everything except the things we didn’t have a choice on,” Mr. Ramsey said. “I’m proud of our administrators who worked hard to keep costs down.”
The mayor said county revenues grew by about $2.4 million from property taxes, $400,000 from sales taxes and $361,000 from interest revenue. But medical insurance costs rose by about $2 million, pension obligations by $1 million, prisoner housing costs by $700,000 and fuel costs by $250,000.
