Police have in custody a suspect in an early-morning shooting at East Lake Courts.
A little before 6 a.m., police found the body of a man in his mid-20 fatally wounded in the housing development’s parking lot. They have not released his name.
Police believe the shooting today may have been retaliation for a shooting Tuesday at Emma Wheeler Homes.
“Early indicators are that it was gang related,” Chattanooga Police Department spokesman Sgt. Tom Layne said.
The suspect being questioned this morning by police also is in his 20s. Police say they believe both the victim and suspect do not live at East Lake Courts, a Chattanooga Housing Authority housing development.
Adrian Patton, 26, was shot and killed Tuesday while driving a Dodge pickup truck through the community in broad daylight. His truck ran into a home at 4708 Edinburg Drive with an impact hard enough to shatter the building’s bricks and cement.
