Catoosa man charged with luring Ohio minor

Authorities today described how they arrested a 43-year-old Fort Oglethorpe man whom they allege used the Internet to lure a 15-year-old Ohio girl for sexual purposes.

The FBI and Fort Oglethorpe investigators made the arrest on Friday, booking Keith Alan Hanshaw, of 51 Gattis Drive, on an array of charges, including enticing a minor for immoral purposes and child molestation, Fort Oglethorpe Police Chief Larry Black said.

He said the suspect was arrested at a Chattanooga motel where he was staying with the girl, who had been missing since June 12 from her home in Ohio.

They went to the motel as a result of leads developed in a joint investigation between the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department and FBI agents from Ohio and Chattanooga.

“The girl was returned to her parents in Dayton, Ohio,” he said.

Mr. Hanshaw is being held at the Catoosa County Jail.
