KNOXVILLE —; The University of Tennessee has finalized a raise and three-year contract extension for athletic director Mike Hamilton.
The new deal runs through June 2011 and increases Hamilton’s base salary from $236,900 to $261,500.
“We’re pleased with what Mike has done, and this contract is intended to reflect that satisfaction,” UT president John Petersen said in a statement. “Mike has consistently met or exceeded expectations in every area of his responsibilities.”
Hamilton, a graduate of Clemson, is nearing the three-year mark of his tenure at Tennessee. Since taking over in July 2003, Hamilton has boosted UT’s finish in the Director’s Cup from 27th to 14th to No. 8 in the final 2004-05 totals.
