Suck Creek Cycles is on a mission to push not only pedals, but beverages, as well. With a hot new smoothie and espresso bar in the works, the store is set to start purveying thirst-quenching drinks to the cyclists of Chattanooga, a development which will be celebrated on June 23 at an open house event.
Held from 6 to 9 p.m., the soiree is not intended to simply boost sales (though consumerism will be allowed and is encouraged), but to foster a sense of community between Chattanooga cyclists. “We hope to promote the atmosphere we’re seeking. We want customers to feel free to just come in, hang out, and meet each other,” said service manager Lee Gates.
Having bounced around from location to location since its 1999 establishment, Suck Creek Cycles finally landed at its Cherokee Boulevard location two months ago. The new space is open and inviting and ideal for relaxing after a long summer ride. Providing a plush leather sofa for weary cyclists and shoppers alike, the store shouldn’t have any problems making its customers feel like part of the family, as it discriminates not according to age or gender.
Carrying every kind of bike one could desire, the store inventory is quite diverse, selling children’s bikes, high-end performance racing cycles, and everything in between. And all the ladies in town should be pleased to know that the store has most recently delved into the world of women-specific gear, adding all kinds of goodies for girls to its already impressive loot.
“If it goes with cycling, we carry it,” said Mr. Gates.
Buzz-worthy bicycles, colorful clothing, and now tasty coffee and smoothies, as well —; seems like Suck Creek Cycles really does have it all.
