After a week on the waterfrontm I’m back in the office and catching up on business. Here’s what you need to know this week:
NPR Music’s Live Online Concert Series, which is a fantastic way to check out lots of great music, is hosting Gomez with Sept. 8 Nightfall headliners The Bad Plus on Thursday. Go here to stream the concert live from the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. If you miss the live feed you can catch it anytime on the site’s archive. The show starts about 10 p.m.
Cognac makers Remy Martin are offering folks a chance to vote on the most influential artists in “hip-hop soul history.” You can vote here, but the best part of the site is the music player, featuring lots of music from the artists. Currently, Tupac Shakur leads voting for artist and song.
If you’re looking for some live music tonight, head to Rhythm & Brews for The Samples and their richly layered roots rock. The Denver based group is celebrating 20 years together, during which time they recorded 18 albums.
