Hamilton County general Sessions Court Judge David Bales bound charges to the grand jury today against Michael “Mike-Mike” Daniels in the June 13 shooting death of Adrian Patton in Emma Wheeler Homes.

Mr. Daniels is charged with first-degree murder, criminal conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and illegal possession of a firearm.

First-degree murder and criminal conspiracy charges were dismissed against Darius Sneed, Federico Brock and Delicia Woodruff after testimony that they were only witnesses and were not involved in the shooting.

Testimony in court indicated Mr. Daniels, a ranking member of the Skyline Blood street gang, ordered a 17-year-old member of the gang to shoot Mr. Patton because Mr. Daniels though he was responsible for shooting his sister’s house.

Judge Bales increased Mr. Daniels’ bond to more than $2.6 million.

The judge also revoked Mr. Daniels’ telephone privileges at the jail after testimony that he had “soldiers” who worked at his behest.

The 17-year-old, who is not identified here according to Chattanooga Times Free Press policy, faces charges in Juvenile Court.

Officials said he will likely be charged as an adult following a transfer hearing in about two months.
