Republican Jim Cobb, who is seeking the GOP’s 31st state House District nomination, said he has a firm grasp of state government and hopes to push for conservative values if elected.
“When I stand on a principle, I don’t back off it,” said Mr. Cobb, 55, of Spring City, Tenn.
Mr. Cobb is seeking the seat held by state Rep. Bo Watson, R-Hixson, who is leaving the House to run for an open state Senate seat.
Health care, immigration and opposition to a state income tax stand out as some of his top issues as he runs for the Tennessee General Assembly, said Mr. Cobb, a retired shift manager at the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Watts Bar Nuclear Plant.
