Even when you love your job, some days are just more fun than others, Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen said Friday.
The governor was at Booker T. Washington State Park, one of three stops to announce the end of access fees at state parks.
“One of my first goals (in 2003) was to eliminate access fees,” Gov. Bredesen said. “It took a little longer than we planned. I love being governor, but on days like this, it is absolutely wonderful.”
With help from students from the First-Centenary United Methodist Church Inner City Ministry summer camp, Gov. Bredesen ripped up the access fees sign. Several area residents, who said they regularly used the park until the $3 access was levied, observed.
