-- Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Theodore R. Forte has graduated from Utilities Systems Apprentice Course at Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Texas.
The course trains students in water processing, analysis, principles of water treatment plants, maintenance of water and waste water, fire suppression and backflow prevention systems and components; and maintenance and repair of water supply, waste, and natural gas systems.
Airman Forte, son of Billy N. and Ollie Forte, is assigned to the 118th Airlift Wing in Nashville.
-- Army Pvt. Ryan Johnson of Winchester, Tenn., has completed advanced individual training. He is serving as a light-wheel vehicle mechanic.
He is the son of Paul Johnson of Monteagle, Tenn., and Cheryl Brewer of Pelham, Tenn.
-- Army Private Matthew T. Miles of Evensville, Tenn., has competed advanced individual training. He is the son of Rosa Taguada and a graduate of Rhea County High School He is a cannoneer crew member.
-- Capt. Brian M. Harvey has been recommended for the Bronze Star Medal with the Combat Distinguishing Device for heroic achievement in the performance of his duties while serving as company commander, Company I, 3d Battalion, 8th Marines, 1-Brigade Combat Team, I Marine Expeditionary Force Forward from March 8 to July 24.
-- Army Staff Sgt. Walter K. Bailey has been decorated with the Army Commendation Medal for supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. The medal is awarded to individuals who, while serving in any capacity with the Army, distinguish themselves by acts of heroism or meritorious service.
In Iraq, Sgt. Bailey serves as a member of the Fires Brigade, 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) headquartered at Camp Liberty. He is the son of William K. Bailey.
