The project, to be finished in 2007, will include a new zoo entrance off Holtzclaw Avenue, an additional parking lot, a carousel, concessions facilities, restrooms and sidewalks.
* City Councilman Jack Benson protested a proposed arrangement to pay fire Chief Wendell Rowe under a contract that would allow him to continue drawing his pension from when he retired as a fire captain in 2001.
