Blaze levels woodworking plant in Athens, Tenn
A fire destroyed the Athens Woodcrafters plant in Athens, Tenn., Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
A neighbor noticed the fire about 4 p.m. at the plant on the corner of Oak and Pope streets, where workers built chests and other products from cedar wood.
City authorities said the wood and dust from the products contributed to the blaze in the old plant, which was built in 1946.
No injuries were reported and firefighters were still on the scene at 6 p.m.
