Mourners poured into an East Ridge church this afternoon to celebrate the life of state Rep. Jack Sharp, R-East Ridge.
The crowd included many public officials from the area as well as a bipartisan crowd of legislators from across the state, including House Speaker Jimmy Naifeh, D-Covington.
I saw every vote he cast for 10 years, said Hamilton County Republican Party Chairman Bobby Wood, who served with Rep. Sharp in the General Assembly. And not one time did he ever betray the confidence you placed in him.
Following the funeral at Jones Memorial United Methodist Church, a long procession proceeded to Chattanooga National Cemetery for the burial.
Rep. Sharp, 70, died Sunday after a long bout with cancer.
