Gov. Phil Bredesen and U.S. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn., today announced federal approval of $50 million in help for Tennessee hospitals.
The supplemental essential access payments are meant to offset hospitals charity care.
Erlanger hospital could receive $3 million of the money if it is distributed according to the same formula that has been used in the past.
Erlanger spokeswoman Nancy White and state officials said Thursday night that the exact distribution of the $50 million had yet to be determined.
