Coming up in my column next week, Ill be discussing personal video recorders, and give you a few tips on what they do and how to choose one. These devices are amazing.
As I may have mentioned, I get a lot of e-mails from folks in their 60s and 70s asking very pointed computer and tech questions. If enough of you would enjoy it, I may do a column sometime just about the benefits of computers for senior citizens-just let me know.
One question I get over and over is about which is better, the Mac or PC. Again I sayboth and neither. I use them both and they each have strengths and weaknesses. If youre a first-time buyer and need to know which one to get, its simple get the same kind that your friend owns. You know the one, you can call him anytime for help. You cant go wrong with either one these days. The Mac seems to be more stable running video software, but accessories can be hard to find and expensive. The PC has its own blessings and curses. Ill try to do a column or podcast on this subject sometime.
