Last week, I interviewed Rick Johnson, a senior vice president of Ruby Tuesday. Did you know that the eatery started in Knoxville with one store, then two, then opened its third right here in the Scenic City? At one time, there were two Ruby Tuesdays in Chattanooga —; the first on Brainerd Road in between Belvoir Avenue and Germantown Road —; and the second at Hamilton Place. The Brainerd location closed first, followed by the mall location a few years later. Now, the closest Ruby Tuesday is in Ringgold. It’s one of 865 restaurants in the chain, and more are opening every year.
So, I asked, “Rick, when will you bring Ruby Tuesday back to Chattanooga?”
I mean, have you ever experienced the salad bar there? And the burgers are among the best anywhere. So I propose to start a mass campaign to bring Ruby Tuesday back to Chattanooga. To do so, log onto http://www.rubytuesday.com, scroll down to the bottom and click on contact. There’s a place where you can e-mail your thoughts. And I have the perfect location, if you want to add that —; out near Target on Highway 153 because that’s closer to my house than Hamilton Place.
And does the Hamilton Place neighborhood really need another restaurant? Come on, share the wealth with us on the northern fringes of the county.
