In a Class A/AA state sectional, Chattanooga Christian advanced to the Spring Fling with a 4-0 win over Portland. CSAS also advanced with a 3-0 win over White House.
In a Class AAA sectional game delayed by rain and lightning, Ooltewah advanced to the Spring Fling with a 3-0 win over Cookeville. The news wasn’t as good for McMinn County, who was eliminated in a 3-1 loss at Riverdale.
With thunderstorms dancing around the city, the Chattanooga Christian Chargers are defeated Portland 4-0 Saturday night in their sectional soccer match.
Both of CCS' first half goals came from Kyle A'Hern, the second was assisted by Derek Wieldraayer.
The opening goal came in the 19th minute. The second goal came in the 35th.
The Chargers scored agian in the 60th minute when Evan Shephard found the net. Wieldraayer scored the final goal in injury time off a free kick in the final minute of the game.
CCS was hosting Region 4A/AA runner-up, Portland. They will advance to face Knoxville Catholic in the first round of the State Tournament. They will play Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in a quarter final match.
