The Red Bank Board of Commissioners passed the town’s proposed fiscal year 2007 budget on first reading on May 16.
The budget of $4.27 million is an increase of $135,375 over last year’s budget. Due to increased revenue, property taxes will remain the same.
At the board’s meeting, each commissioner praised City Manager Chris Dorsey for creating such a thorough budget with the help of the heads of each department.
The budget passed unanimously on a roll-call vote. Commissioner Ronnie Moore was absent.
The second, and final, reading of the budget will take place on June 6.
