A public meeting tonight on Signal Mountain gave residents an opportunity to ask questions and voice concerns about proposed zoning changes near a planned middle/high school.
The changes would be on property along Shackleford Ridge Road adjacent to a planned middle/high school, and they likely would lead to more residential growth on the mountain.
Landowners of the property said developers and officials will ensure there is responsible, planned growth, but a number of residents voiced fear that the character of the mountain might change and that safety could be compromised with added traffic.
