The owner of Brach’s Confections is selling the business to U.S.-based Farley’s & Sathers for an undisclosed price, the companies said today.
Both Brach’s and Farley’s & Sathers have Chattanooga plants where the companies make candy and employ an estimated 500 to 600 people combined.
Swiss-based Barry Callebaut AG said it plans to transfer Brach’s and its affiliates, including factories here and in Minnesota and Mexico, to Farley’s by the end of the year.
Farley’s, a non-chocolate confectionary and gum producer, is owned by U.S. private equity firm Catterton Partners Corp.
