Chamber rejects boundary study

The Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce supports a Tennessee legislative resolution that rejects the state’s participation in a boundary line commission with Georgia and North Carolina.

“This latest challenge is merely an attempt to seize access to Tennessee River water under color of a boundary dispute,” said Hayes Ledford, the Chamber’s vice president for public affairs. “The border is well established and recognized officially, legally and practically.”

The state Senate’s State and Local Government Committee will consider the resolution today in Nashville.
