Mary Catherine Allen, 83, of Chattanooga, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2008, at a local hospital.

Patty Barger
Patricia "Patty" Munczenski Barger, 60, of Georgetown, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2008, in a local hospital.
She was born May 27, 1947, in Latrobe, Pa., to Margaret and Edward Munczenski.
She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. She worked for the Miller & Martin law firm for many years and was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Patty was a devoted and caring mother to her children and Me-Ma to her grandson. She was well known for her outstanding cake decorating talent.
Her father, Edward Munczenski, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Shawna Barger, of Phoenix, Ariz., Curtis Barger, of Salt Lake City, Utah; grandson, Ethan Barger, of Chattanooga; mother, Margaret Munczenski, of Chattanooga; sisters, Janice Stephenson, of Georgetown, Nancy Doremus, of Chattanooga; brother, Dennis (Teresa) Munczenski, of Chattanooga; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Jude Catholic Church with Father Joe Brando officiating.
Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Kelsie Beavers Sr.
Kelsie James Beavers Sr., 81, of Chattanooga, died Thursday, April 17, 2008, in a local hospital.
He was born April 27, 1926, in Caretta, W.Va., to the late James and Hazel Beavers.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in both World War II and the Korean War in the construction battalion. He was a member of VFW Post 1491.
Mr. Beavers was a retired salesman from Wil-Burt Co. after more than 30 years of service. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and was a founding member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. He was a lifetime charter member of the Chattanooga Water Ski Club, and was instrumental in starting the East Brainerd ball fields.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Erma, Phyllis, Bonnie and Dana.
Survivors include his special friend, Ms. Billie Jennings, of Hixson; daughter, Linda Beavers Wagner and her husband, Jack Andrew, of Chattanooga; son, Kelsie James "Jimmy" Beavers Jr., of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; daughter, Sue B. Owens and her husband, Randy M., of Ooltewah; the mother of his three children, Frances M. Beavers, of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Melinda Hamby, Lance Wagner, Julie Knight, Courtney Lyttle, K.J. Beavers III and Cole Owens; sister, Margie Jones, of Richmond, Va.; brother, Freddie Beavers and his wife, Virginia, of Coalwood, W.Va.; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. today in the East Brainerd Chapel with the Rev. Mark Flynn officiating.
Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.

Kevin Beene
Kevin Beene passed into God's eternal kingdom and peaceful rest on Tuesday, April 15, 2008.
Kevin was born on Oct. 10, 1963. He grew up on Signal Mountain, where he played as a child and enjoyed his youth. He made his profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Signal Mountain Baptist Church. Kevin enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. He attended McCallie School.
He was preceded in death by his father, Woody Beene, who certainly met him on the other side.
Survivors include his mother, Elnora Cunningham Beene; son, Brandon Beene; daughters, Lindsey and Tiffany Beene; brothers, Gary and Mitchell Beene, of Chattanooga.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with Brother Ron Fender presiding.
The family requests that memorial gifts be given to the Chattanooga Community Kitchen, the Salvation Army or CADAS.

Gwendolyn Bush
Gwendolyn Bush, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2008, in a local hospital. She was 88.
Born June 30, 1919, in Chatsworth, Ga., Gwen grew up with her family in Lakeview, Ga. Gwen was the youngest child of the late John and Lillie Black. She graduated from Central High School and Edmonson Business School. Gwen moved to Chattanooga in 1941, when she married Nick P. Bush, who passed away in December 1969. She retired from Fowler Bros. in 1985.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Joseph and Roy Black; and sister, Inez Blackman.
She is survived by three daughters, Venice Bush (Ken) Light, Ooltewah, Betsy Bush (Mike) Smith, Signal Mountain, and Beverly Bush (George) Biersdorf, Cooksville, Md.; four grandchildren, Michael "Tic" Smith, Eric Light, Bethany and Nicholas Biersdorf; three great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 21, in the Heritage Funeral Home chapel.
Interment will follow at Chattanooga Memorial Park, 501 Memorial Drive.

John Gardenbrock
John J. Gardenbrock, 74, of Harrison, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2008.
John was a native of Goshen, N.Y., and a graduate of St. John's High School and Stevens Technical College in Jersey City, N.J. He was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area and retired from U.S. Pipe and Foundry with over 33 years of service. John was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and volunteered at Scenic City Friends and the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. He was an avid tennis player at Brainerd, where he was known as Sunday John.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Stella and Henry Gardenbrock Sr.; and a brother, Henry Gardenbrock Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Bernardine Gardenbrock; two sisters, Ann Howell and Marie Wassik; several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Celebration will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Jude Catholic Church with Father David Carter officiating.
There will be no visitation.

Dorothy Hackney, 96, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2008.
She was a member of Soddy Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Hackney; daughter, Faynette Cranmore; several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by sons, Tom and Jim Hackney; daughters, Dean McInturf, Phyllis Edwards, Sue Clonts, Floretta Higdon and Pandora Gram; sister, Elsie Cranmore; 32 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Mae Willis "Dot" Jones passed on Tuesday, April 15, 2008, in Knoxville.
Dorothy was graduated from the Chattanooga public school system. She was a member of New Living Faith Community Church of Knoxville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Troy and Mary Willis; one brother and one sister.

Mary Kennedy
Mary Louise Kennedy, 86, of Chattanooga, died on Friday, April 18, 2008.
She was the daughter of the John G. Smith and Mamie Linkous Smith.
Mary started her nurses training at Erlanger hospital and while completing her training, she was bestowed the title of "Miss Student Nurse." She retired from there after 26 years of service as a nurse and later became an assistant hospital administrator. Mary was a lifetime member of Red Bank Baptist Church, where she had taught Sunday School for many years, and was a member of the American Business Women's Association (ABWA).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert S. Kennedy; and brother, George Dixon Smith.
Survivors include her brother, John G. Smith Jr.; sisters, Nancy Bracken and Phyllis Schmidt; nieces, Nancy Lew Whedbee, Shirley Anne Stanifer, Carol Jean Orten and Robin Smith; nephews, Kevin and Nathan Smith; several great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Fred Steelman and the Rev. Bert Jones officiating.

Barbara Jeanette "Judy" Killian, 71, of Ooltewah, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 18, 2008.
A lifelong resident of Hamilton County, Mrs. Killian was print department manager for Action Mail Presort Inc. She was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin M. Killian.

Carolyn Stone
Carolyn Gaddy Stone, beloved mother and sister, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2008, ending a decadeslong struggle with Addison's disease.
Though she was hospitalized in Tennessee at the end of her life, she had resided for many years in the Atlanta area with special ties to the Roswell community.
She served as regent of the Martha Stewart Bullock Chapter of the DAR and was a board member of the state organization. She was member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy of North Fulton County. Bullock Hall in Roswell was a special joy to her as she participated as a docent and craft teacher. The Roswell Women's Club and Garden Club were also beneficiaries of her time and talents. She was well known for her flower arrangements and her herb garden. She was a tireless volunteer at the Veterans Hospital and gathered useful items for veterans there as well as for the DAR School at Tamassee, S.C. Her sense of humor and positive attitude endeared her to many as she gave cheerfully of her time to important causes.
She is dearly missed already. Born on Feb. 5, 1935, she was the daughter of Frances and Virgil Gaddy, lifelong residents of Atlanta, now deceased.
She is survived by her son, Robert E. Stone Jr., of Chattanooga; daughter, Carolyn Lucinda Beers, of Atlanta; her sisters, Bess Kelly, Helen Harwell, Lynn Scardina and her namesake, Emma Carolyn Brinkley. Extended family includes Barbara Arnold, Gail Brown, Ted Stone, DeLores Brewer, Dena Bailey; and many nieces and nephews.
She will be interred next to her husband, Robert E. Stone Sr. at Green Lawn Chapel and Cemetery, and her memorial service will be held there at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2008.

Wanda Teitloff, 77, a resident of the Chattanooga area from 1975 until 2001, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, in Florida.
She taught economics and political science at area schools, including Dalton Junior College.

A native of Fort Blackmore, Va., and resident of Chattanooga for 40 years, she was a daughter of the late Thurman and Annie Eliza Gibson Castle. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Michael Bishop and Kenneth Thomas; and one sister, Willie Sexton.

SOUTH PITTSBURG -- Charles Kevin Knight, 38, died unexpectedly Friday, April 18, 2008, at his home.
A graduate of South Pittsburg High School, he attended MTSU and Chattanooga State. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he was a former employee of Beaulieu and was currently working for Universal Form Clamp in Jasper, Tenn.
He is survived by his mother, Jean (Paul) Turney, of South Pittsburg; father, Charles (Nancy) Knight, of Soddy-Daisy; sister, Keila Knight, of Chattanooga; stepbrother, Paul S. Turney Jr., of Whitwell, Tenn.; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. CDT Monday, April 21, 2008, from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home with the Rev. Stephen Eichler and the Rev. Bill Lassiter officiating.

Nathan Mosley
OAK RIDGE -- James Nathaniel Mosley passed away on Friday, April 18, 2008, after a long battle with leukemia at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, Tenn. He was 28.
Nathan was born on May 8, 1979, in Chattanooga. He graduated from Marion County High School in 1998.
Nathan served five years in the U.S. Army with the 82nd Airborne, where he fought in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Nathan achieved the rank of sergeant while in service to his country and received the coveted Bronze Star, the fourth-highest combat award given by the military, for his service in the Iraq war.
Nathan was employed at Oak Ridge National Laboratory of the U.S. Department of Energy by the private security firm Wakenhut.
Nathan was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Benjamin Mosley; and uncles, Earl, Wayman and Harold Mosley.
He is survived by his parents, Shirley Mosley and Randall Teasley; wife, Ashleigh German Mosley; son, James Benjamin Mosley; sisters, Natasha and Mack Johnson. Sherie' Shankles, Jordan Ingle, Ashton Teasley; brother, Hunter Teasley; grandparents, Edna Mae Mosley and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Teasley; niece, Kaidyn Johnson; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Dr. Edward Snyder
KNOXVILLE -- Edward Duncan Snyder, M.D., passed away Saturday, April 12, 2008.
He grew up in Chattanooga and graduated from Baylor School. At age 21 he completed his medical studies at the University of Tennessee at Memphis.
He later served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Survivors are his wife of 33 years, Jean Snyder; three daughters and spouses; four grandchildren; his mother, Frances Duncan Snyder; and his sister, Diane Snyder.

RISING FAWN -- James Allen Bobo, 75, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away on Friday, April 11, 2008.
Born in Sand Mountain, Ala., on Aug. 17, 1932, the son of Joseph Zeb Bobo and Eloise Chadwick Bobo. He attended school in Dade County, Ga., and joined the Coast Guard, where he was stationed in St. Petersburg, Fla. He was a Master Mason Shriner and member of the Punta Gorda Elks Club. He attended Rising Fawn Baptist Church. He retired from DuPont after 42 years.
He married Patricia Ann Goulding in the United Methodist Church in 1955. He and Patricia Ann resided in Trenton, Ga., until they moved to Punta Gorda in 2000.
He is survived by his wife; daughter, Elta Crabtree; son, Allen Bobo; grandchildren, Brieanna Foster, Erik Bobo, Matt Bobo, Carissa Crabtree, Christian Crabtree; and great-grandson Joseph Austin Bobo; brother, Raymond Bobo.

Lillie Clark
ROSSVILLE -- Lillie Daniel Clark, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 18, 2008.
She was born Aug. 12, 1919 in Euchee in Meigs County, Tenn., to the late Isaac and Matilda White Daniel. She had lived in Rossville since 1940.
Lillie was a charter member of Parkway Baptist Church. She worked several years for Red Food Stores and she and her husband ran their own grocery store for many years, the last being Clark's Grocery on Cross Street.
Lillie was a precious lady full of life and laughter and genuine love for all her family and friends. She never met a stranger and made lifelong friends everywhere she went. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, B.J. Clark who died Feb. 23, 2008; five brothers, Charlie Daniels, Walter Daniels, William Daniels, J.A. Daniels and Lige Daniel; and two sisters, Nannie Ray and Lena Daniel.
She is survived by niece and caretaker, Margie (Jerry) Mayfield, of Fort Oglethorpe; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, "adopted children" and many friends whom she loved very much and who also loved her -- because to know her was to love her.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2008, at the Heritage Funeral Home chapel with Dr. David Sampson, the Rev. Richard Byars and the Rev. Johnny Daniels officiating.

He was born in Chattanooga to the late Daniel Ashley "Jr." Jewell III and Vera Palfrey Jewell. He was a member of the Church of the Nativity in Fort Oglethorpe. He was a retired accountant and had worked for Crystal Springs Bleachery, T.H. Payne Co. and had been a self-employed accountant as well.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kitty Headen Jewell; daughter, Sharon West; brothers, Daniel Ashley Jewell IV and Henry Jewell.
He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Lee Jewell, of Gatlinburg, Tenn., Ellen and Brad Siegfried, of Duluth, Ga.; grandchildren, Ashley and Jesse West, Emma and Anna Siegfried; sisters, Irene J. She was born in Ellijay, Ga., to the late Fletcher and Lissie Ann Garrett Stamey. Cora was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Rossville and retired from Rossville Mills after many years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Glenn Cantrell and Wallace Lancaster.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Ann Keffer, of Rossville; grandchildren and their spouses, Glenn and Kyla McCary, Chad Keffer, all of Rossville, Michelle and Bill Wilson, of Chattanooga; great-grandchildren, Ross, Zoey, Tye Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.

Mike Michalski
CLAYTON -- E.M. "Mike" Michalski, 81, passed away Friday, April 18, 2008, in the Mountain Lakes Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
Mike was born Sept. 29, 1926, in West Orange, N.J., to late Joseph and Katherine Michalski. He was a longtime resident and businessman in Chattanooga.
Mike was a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, serving aboard a tanker during World War II from Japan, Philippine Islands, Iran, Australia, Panama, to the Hawaiian Islands. He was an outstanding athlete in football and track and field, plus a scholastic star. He member of the New York City Athletic Club and had set many records. Mike was inducted into the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy's sports hall of fame in the fall of 1992 after Mike's phenomenal record was read as a tribute before a full regiment at attention. He was an awesome and avid golfer.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, Carol Swafford Michalski, second wife, J.J. Stegall Michalski, brothers, Stanley and Walter Michalski.
Mike leaves to grieve for him a niece, Maureen Michalski Salayko, of New Jersey; his very much loved and loving friends, Doug Robinson, of Clayton, Ga., and Barbara Blockley, of Chattanooga.
He has been cremated and a visitation for friends and family will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at Hunter Funeral Home.

FLINTSTONE -- Brother Joseph "Joe" Wrape Sr., 67, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2008, in Bay City, Texas.
He was born June 11, 1940, in Summerville, Ga., to the late John Alfred Wrape and Annie Lee Pettyjohn Wrape. Brother Joe had lived in Flintstone for the past nine months. Before moving to Georgia he resided in Bay City, Texas, for many years where he led the congregation of the Nichols Street Church of Christ.
Brother Joe was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill Wrape; and granddaughter, Emily Newman.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Lenora Madaris Wrape, of Flintstone; four daughters and sons-in-law, Camille and David Dodd, of Eagleville Tenn., Crystal and Nolan Gibson, of Rossville, Cindy and Andy Peters, of Louise, Texas, and Felicia and Eric Flores, of Richmond, Texas; son, Joseph Earl Wrape Jr. and wife, Andrea, of Rowlett, Texas; three sisters, Nellie Godfrey, of Summerville, Ga., Frances Parton, of Chickamauga, Ga., and Faye Thomison, of Chickamauga; brother, Parks Wrape, of Rossville; and his grandchildren, Joshua Dodd, Jonathan Dodd, Ricky Mincy, Joy Peters, Laura Peters, Rebecca Peters, Trey Wrape III and Jordyn Wrape.

Roger was the owner-operator of a trucking company who will be remembered by all for his dedication to helping others.
