The Jacksonville Suns scored two runs in the first, third and fifth innings and made them hold up for a 6-5 win Friday night over the Chattanooga Lookouts at AT&T Field.

With the victory, Jacksonville won the series and improved to 26-34 with 10 games remaining in the Southern League regular season. Chattanooga dropped to 25-35.

The Suns took a 2-0 lead in the first on RBI singles by Juan Gonzalez and Gabriel Gutierrez and doubled their advantage in the third on consecutive home runs to left field by Russell Mitchell and Gonzalez. Jacksonville’s two runs in the fifth came off a wild pitch by Camilo Vazquez and a throwing error by catcher Eddy Rodriguez on a pickoff attempt.

Chris Heisey and Drew Anderson had RBIs for the Lookouts in the sixth inning to make it 6-2, and Rodriguez made it a one-run game in the seventh with a three-run homer to left.

Chattanooga begins its final road series of the season tonight at Tennessee.
