Chattanooga: Smokies edge Lookouts 2-1 in 10 innings

KODAK, Tenn. — Kyle Reynolds hit a bases-loaded single off Chattanooga reliever Lee Tabor with nobody out in the 10th inning to give the Tennessee Smokies a 2-1 Southern League baseball win Monday night.

The game was moved up an hour to avoid the rain.

Chris Denove gave the Lookouts (26-37) a 1-0 lead in the seventh with a sacrifice fly to center field that scored Chris Valaika, who began the inning with a single to center. Tennessee tied it in the eighth on Tyler Colvin’s two-out single to center that scored Nate Spears.

Game four of the five-game series is set to start at 7:15 tonight. Pedro Viola (3-7, 4.60 ERA) is the scheduled pitcher for the Lookouts, with Donnie Veal (5-9, 4.13) slated for the Smokies.

Chattanooga’s Danny Dorn was named Monday as the Southern League Hitter of the Week. Dorn went 14-for-27 last week (.519) with three homers and four RBIs.
