Chattanooga: Lookouts rock Stars

Eric Eymann and Chris Heisey each hit a grand slam to left field Thursday night to lead the Chattanooga Lookouts to an 11-7 series-opening win over the Huntsville Stars at AT&T Field.

The Lookouts improved to 28-37 with four games remaining in the Southern League’s regular season. They also improved to 6-5 under interim manager Jamie Dismuke.

Michael Garciaparra’s three-run homer to left helped propel Huntsville to a 4-0 lead in the first inning, but Chattanooga answered with six in the first, with Eymann’s slam giving the Lookouts a two-run lead. Lookouts starting pitcher Camilo Vazquez remained in the game and worked five innings, but Huntsville starter Jeremy Jeffress was pulled before finishing the first.

Heisey’s slam came in the seventh inning and gave the Lookouts their largest lead at 11-5.
