Chattanooga: Motorcycle accident claims life of Floridian

Chattanooga Police have identified a motorcyclist killed in a late night accident as 61-year-old Phil Harris of Stuart, Fla.

According to police reports, Mr. Harris was travelling northbound on Hixson Pike just after 10 p.m. Thursday when he lost control of his motorcycle and struck a curb. Mr. Harris was thrown from the motorcycle and hit a guardrail.

He died on the scene as a result of head trauma, according to Sgt. Jerri Weary, public information officer with the Chattanooga Police Department.
