Update: Sale Creek man dies in house fire

A Sale Creek man died early this morning after fire engulfed his home, according to a dispatcher with Hamilton County Emergency Services.

The victim was identified as Kenneth Michael Carlisle, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department.

Officials say the fire started around 4 a.m. at the victim’s home in the 100 block of Rock Creek Road off Dayton Pike.

Fire personnel conducted a search of the residence and found Mr. Carlisle unconscious on the floor, said sheriff’s department spokesman Dusty Stokes.

CPR was performed on Mr. Carlisle, but all attempts to revive him failed.

The Sale Creek Fire Department along with crews from Soddy-Daisy and Chattanooga-Hamilton County Rescue Service battled the blaze and brought it under control.

Chief Tony Reavely with Hamilton County Rescue is still on the scene as investigators try to determine the cause of the fire.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the fire.
