Tennessee: Gerald Williams cleared to play for Vols
Junior college transfer Gerald Williams has satisfied SEC eligibility requirements and been cleared to play for Tennessee this season, two UT officials confirmed Friday. Williams had been held out of practice by coach Phillip Fulmer while awaiting SEC approval of a online correspondence math course he took this summer. Williams was in pads and practicing with the team Friday as the Vols prepare for their season opener Monday in Los Angeles when they will take on UCLA.
