Georgia sophomore weakside linebacker Rennie Curran, who has amassed 109 tackles this season, is among the 12 finalists for the Butkus Award.
Curran is one of five Southeastern Conference players up for the nation’s top linebacker award, joining Florida junior Brandon Spikes, Alabama sophomore Rolando McClain, LSU senior Darry Beckwith and LSU junior Perry Riley. Other finalists include Ohio State’s James Laurinaitis and the Southern Cal tandem of Rey Maualuga and Brian Cushing.
Georgia announced Monday that it has pre-sold 10,400 tickets for a bowl game, which appears to be the Capital One in Orlando on New Year’s Day. The Capital One has an allotment of 12,000 tickets for each of its participating teams.
The priority deadline for ordering bowl tickets runs through Friday, after which remaining tickets will be open to the public.
