NASHVILLE – Employers and jobseekers who use the services of the Tennessee Career Center in Chattanooga at 1105 East 10th Street, will soon be going to a new location. Beginning on Dec. 22, the new location will be 5600 Brainerd Road, Suite A-5, in the Eastgate Town Center mall. The location is between the J. A. Henry Family YMCA and the Electric Cowboy.
The Career Center will be closed Dec. 17 at 1 p.m. through Dec. 19. The new location at the mall will open at 8 a.m. on Dec. 22. The phone number will remain the same, 423-894-5354.
Many people call or go into the Career Center for questions about unemployment and how to file. Since 2007, claimants in the Chattanooga area can only call in their claims at 1-877-813-0950 or file online at http://www.tennesseeanytime.org/labor/.
Tennessee Career Centers are where people and jobs connect. Tennessee has a network of centers across the state where employers can go to find the workers they need and job seekers can get assistance and career information. Each center offers computerized labor market information, internet access, workshops, and an online talent bank, in addition to job placement, recruitment, and training referrals.
