University of RIchmond and University of Montana players met with the media and practiced for the first time today at Finley Stadium, triggering the realization that Friday’s national championship game is almost here.
“It kind of hit me when I saw that field just now,” Richmond quarterback Eric Ward said. “I think, up until this point, we’ve just been preparing for another game like always. I think right now it’s starting to sink in for me.
“It’s a beautiful stadium.”
For Montana’s players, the trip to Chattanooga offers more than a chance to play for a championship in front of a national-television audience. It’s also almost 60 degrees warmer here than in MIssoula, Mont., home of the Grizzlies. The temperature in Missoula today was 3 degrees.
