The Fervor in Studio ‘99

By Sean Phipps

Once again, I invite you to join me for our weekly TFP MUSICcast. This week, we’re joined by The Fervor from “the Sunny Side of” Louisville, Ky. Natalie and Ben Felker began The Fervor a few years ago before adding Mike Campbell on bass and Mat Herron on drums. Their first full-length CD is titled “Bleeder” and was produced by Kevin Ratterman of Wax Fang. On the MUSICcast, the band will talk about touring, the new album and why they love Louisville’s music scene. We’ll also hear the songs “Brushfire” and “The Same” from the new album.

Some delightful music to brighten up your weekend:

Ragtime troubadours The Wiyos will turn the Barking Legs Theater into a 1920’s Cabaret tonight. Expect shiny buckles, horns and lots of fun. Showtime is 8 p.m. Tickets are $10.

Also tonight, North American Royalty will have a CD release party at JJ’s Bohemia. Opening the show will be Forest Magic and the Yazoo Shakes. Show is at 10 p.m.

It’s Bob Marley’s birthday again, and that means MIlele Roots will be celebrating. Join the fun tonight at Rhythm n’ Brews downtown. The show is at 10 p.m.

On Sunday night, Cross Canadian Ragweed will perform at Rhythm n’ Brews. It’s always a good time when “the Weed” is in town. Oh, and they’ll be joined by a little band called Cowboy Mouth...at least that’s what Jenny says anyway. Showtime is 9 p.m.

Have a good weekend.
