Two armed gunmen broke up what was supposed to be a Thursday gathering among friends, police said.
Chattanooga police were called to a home at 2419 E. 14th St. around 4 a.m. Thursday, said Sgt. Jerri Weary, police spokeswoman.
Marcus and Tijuana Jackson told police that they were having a gathering with friends and family when two armed gunmen entered their home and demanded money, Sgt. Weary said.
There were at least 20 guests in the house at the time of the robbery and all were made to lie down on the floor while the two gunmen took money from the victims.
The Jacksons told officers about $1,800 dollars was taken by the robbers, Sgt. Weary said.
Witnesses described the suspects as two black males, about 5 feet 10 inches tall with muscular builds. One suspect was dark-skinned and wearing a hooded top. The other suspect was light-skinned, wearing a mask and wig.
They were last seen leaving in a dark-colored, late model Pontiac, possibly a Grand Am or Grand Prix.
Investigators are asking that anyone with information about the suspects contact the Chattanooga Police Department at 685-2525.
