FedEx Freight wins tax break

FedEx Freight’s planned Shallowford Road facility won a four-year tax break from the Hamilton County Industrial Development Board on Tuesday.

The project is estimated at about $9 million and will add 17 full-time employees to the 80 already working at its existing Polymer Drive location, said Brian Eftink, an attorney representing the company.

The facility is the second major project by FedEx in Chattanooga. A $15 million FedEx Ground facility is under construction off South Broad Street.
