Chattanooga vs. Huntsville
Mid-South metros vie for VW return to U.S. production
Two decades after closing its first U.S. assembly plant in Pennsylvania, Volkswagen says it is looking at potential locations for a new U.S. plant that could employ up to 2,000 workers. Two leading candidates reportedly are the TVA-certified “megasites” in Limestone County just west of Huntsville, Ala., and the Enterprise South Industrial Park in Chattanooga.
