Few accidents and traffic problems reported

by Tom Faure

The roads have been fairly quiet so far, according to state patrol officials. Few accidents and traffic problems have been reported so far this holiday.

“Traffic seems to be picking up as the day progresses,” LaFayette State Patrol officials said.

A minor crash in Dade County involved two cars at the intersection of US-301 South and US-136 in Gass, Ga. Two were injured though their condition was not immediately available, according to LaFayette State Patrol officials.

A car fire tied up I-24 westbound for an hour around Exit 133 in Monteagle Mountain and was cleared at about 1 p.m., Tennessee Highway Patrol officials said. No injuries were reported.
