Grundy accident hurts ATV riders

An accident involving a four-wheeler ATV left two injured in Grundy County at about 7 p.m. CDT.

Two people were transported to Emerald-Hodgson Hospital in Sewanee, Tenn., Scotty Hoosier of the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office said.

“That’s just about the only vehicle accident we’ve had today,” he added.

The incident occured on Main Street in Cumberland Heights near Altamont, Tenn. Main Street is a state highway where four-wheelers are not legal, Mr. Hoosier said.

“It being July Fourth, they kind of run rampant,” he said.
