Lonnie E. Bugg, 70, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2008, at his residence in Bonita Springs, Fla.
Survivors include sister, Veanna Ray; daughter, Ladonna Bugg; granddaughter, Lillian Autry; former wife, Betty Bugg, of Chattanooga; son, Terence Bugg, of Bonita Springs.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Dr. Earl R. Campbell Jr., M.D., passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2008.

Mark Alan Crook, 49, Chattanooga, died Sunday, July 6, 2008, in a local hospital.
He was a lifelong area resident and a member of East Ridge United Pentecostal Church.
Mr. Crook was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Sue Pendleton.
Survivors are sisters, Pamela Sherrill, Chattanooga, Renee Conley and Cindy Jones, Ringgold, Ga.; several aunts, nieces and nephews.

Clarence Dillson
Clarence "Larry" Walter Dillson, 74, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2008.
Mr. Dillson attended Staunton Military Academy, Penn State and Notre Dame. He was employed with IBM for 30 years.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, 1952-56.
Mr. Dillson was preceded in death by his father and mother, Jake and Helen Dillson.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Barbara Garland Dillson; sons, Michael (Zanny) Dillson, Anthony (Amy) Dillson and Scott Dillson; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Stella Ellis
Stella Elizabeth Ellis, after a long illness, went to join her husband in the presence of our Lord on Sunday, July 6, 2008.
She was a devoted wife and mother who spent much of her life as a loyal employee of Barry of Chattanooga and Newcomb Spring of Collegedale. She was an avid collector of salt and pepper shakers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E.J. Ellis, Sr.; and her four brothers, Leslie, Benton, Benny, and Michael.
Stella is survived by her loving children, Jackie (Jim) Elliott, Eddie Ellis Jr., Donna Richardson and Rick (Carol) Ellis; sister, Crystal McDonald; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, cousins and aunts, friends and neighbors, all of whom were important to her.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2008 in the Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Mason officiating.
Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Keith Thompson, Matthew Thompson, Adam Woodward, Alex Richardson, Chris Richardson, John Stuff, Tim Dixon, and Donnie Ricketts serving as pallbearers.

James Rogers
James W. Rogers, 97, of Chattanooga, went home to rest in God's arms on Thursday, July 3, 2008.
His wife of 61 years, Vivian, preceded him in death.
His deep laughter and joyous spirit will be missed by many, including nieces, nephews and in-laws, as well the staff of NHC, members of Warren Chapel AME, where he served as trustee for many years and especially his god-children, Hurdie (Annie) Moore.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Forest Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Eva Settles officiating.
The body will lie in state at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Taylor Funeral Home.
Marilyn Stevens
Marilyn Stevens, 81, of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2008, at a local hospital.
Mrs. Stevens was born in Chattanooga to J.O. and Nell May Shrader. She was a devoted homemaker, a graduate of Central High School class of 1944 and member of Brainerd United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her son, Mike Stevens; parents; and brother, Harold Shrader.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, W. Vaughn Stevens; son, Jim Stevens and his wife, Diann, of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Bryan Stevens, of Chattanooga, Susan Wilcox and her husband, Joe, of West Palm Beach, Fla., Robyn Stevens, of Chattanooga, and Benjamin and Katharine Stevens, of Gadsden, Ala.; and daughter-in-law, Kathie Stevens of Gadsden.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dennie Humphreys officiating.
Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Rita Marie Walek, 90, of Ooltewah, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 6, 2008.
She was born and lived most of her life in Southbridge, Mass., before moving to Ooltewah 11 years ago. She retired from the American Optical Corp. in Southbridge, where she had worked for many years.
She was a member of Tyner United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Stanley Walek; and brothers, Laurent, Gerald, Jean Bernard, Germain and Roger Asselin.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol (Stanton) Levin, of Evergreen, Colo., and Nancy (Bob) Brown, of Ooltewah; grandson, Eric Topliff, of Arvada, Co.; granddaughters, Tracy D'Ambrosia, of Vero Beach, Fla., Kerry Brown and Kelly (Paul) Wilson, of Ringgold, Ga.; and great-grandsons, Nathan D'Ambrosia and Braden Wilson. She also leaves her sisters, Mary Theresa Showfety, of Salisbury, N.C., and Georgette Vlach, of Amherst, Mass.; as well as brother, Andre Asselin, of South Yarmouth, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on today from 3:30–6 p.m., at the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Private burial will be held by the family.

Lawrence Fugate
CALHOUN -- Lawrence Horace "Shorty" Fugate, 88, died Monday, July 7, 2008, at SkyRidge Hospital.
He was a native of Rhea Springs and longtime resident of McMinn County, he was the son of the late Samuel Louis Fugate and Martha Wiggins Fugate. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Lula Green, Willie Paul, Nettie Martha Ferry, Mina Lee Thompson; four brothers, Esper Fugate, Erby Fugat, Harve Fugate, Gordon Fugate; and an infant sister, Ivory Fugate.
Mr. Fugate, a member of Hiwassee Baptist Church, was a 50-year member and past master of Hiwassee Lodge 188 Free & Accepted Masons and a veteran of WWII and member of the Eastern Star. He was retired from Bowater's Southern Paper Mill in Calhoun and served on the McMinn County Board of Education from 1959-1966. Mr. Fugate was a prominent figure in the Republican Party of McMinn County for over 50 years.
Beloved by family and friends, Mr. Fugate is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ira Lee Moore Fugate; five children, Wilma June Fugate Stanley and husband, Don L. Stanley, Lawrence Leo Fugate and wife, Glenda Coe Fugate, Donald Lee Fugate and wife, Linda Weaver Fugate, Phillip Fugate and wife, Annette Coe Fugate, Ronald Allen Fugate and wife, Michelle Dunn Fugate; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hiwassee Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Sneed officiating.
Burial will follow in Calhoun First Baptist Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family members, Rodney Casteel, Joe Stanley, Marcus Miller, Aaron Nash, Andrew Fugate, Brent Tuggle, Parker Fugate, and Mathew Casteel.

Ennis Chambers
RISING FAWN -- Ennis Olgethorpe Chambers, 95, passed from this life on Sunday, July 6, 2008, with family at his side.
Born to Sally LaDora Ingel and Oscar Newton Chambers of Rossville, he was the last of his immediate family of Foy, Jamie, Bee and Glenn.
A 1945 graduate of the Chattanooga school of law, Ennis went on to work at Wheland Industries for a number of years, but was better known as an entrepreneur across North Georgia who successfully operated gasoline, grocery, fireworks and antique stores.
"Catdaddy" will be remembered for his love of life, the fiddle, golf, chess and checkers, antiques and bargains, and his love of, and contact with, angels.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Lisa Chambers, of Lookout Mountain; grandson, Jonah Chambers, of East Ridge; nieces, Joyce and Virginia Chambers; and nephews, Allen, Marion, Donald, Joe, Charles, Robert and James Chambers.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, at Wilson and Sons Funeral Home in Fort Olgethorpe with the Rev. Cecil Gravitt officiating.

RINGGOLD -- Sarah Ruth Neel Page, 85, died Monday, July 7, 2008, at her residence.
She grew up in Columbus, Ga., spent 30 years in Pine Mountain, Ga., retiring in Florida before moving to Ringgold. Mrs. Page received her master's in education from Auburn University and was a high school English teacher and guidance counselor at several high schools.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Ruth Neel; and husband of 55 years, Homer A. Page Sr.
Survivors are son, Homer A. "Burn" Page Jr., wife, Annice, Baton Rouge, La.; daughter, Laura Warren, husband, Randy, Ringgold; sister, Mary Hiers, Pine Mountain; grandchildren, Justin, wife, Janie, and Brandon Page, of Baton Rouge, Melissa and Sarah Warren, of Ringgold; great-grandchildren, Bo and Sadie Page.

Walter Robertson
CHICKAMAUGA -- Walter Clarence "Walt" Robertson, 77, passed away Monday, July 7, 2008.
He had lived in the Chattanooga area for most of his life and was a member and deacon of the Ringgold Seventh Day Adventist Church.
He was also an Army veteran, and expert marksman, who served during the Korean Conflict and had retired from Battlefield Abatement Contractors as the Vice President in 1997 after more than nine years of service. He had previously taught shop class at Kirkman High School and Asbestos Abatement at Georgia Tech. He was a member of the National Asbestos Council and art teacher at Misty Meadows.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rutherven Robertson.
Survivors include his wife, Bettie Jo Robertson, of Chickamauga; mother, Alice Robertson, of Winchester, Tenn.; two sons, Leon Lusk, of Chickamauga, and Jeremiah Strickland, of Ringgold, Ga.; daughter, Lynn Strickland, of Ringgold, Ga.; stepson, Mike Hardin, of Chattanooga; stepdaughter, Melina Watts, of Nashville; two sisters, Helen Warren, of Winchester, and Louise Brown, of Fort Oglethorpe; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; special companion and friend, "Buddy"; and several nieces and nephews.
