Two teenagers killed in McMinn County accident

Two teenagers were killed in a head-on drunk driving accident in McMinn County on Sunday, according to authorities.

A Tennessee Highway Patrol dispatcher said the accident happened Sunday morning on County Road 220 at Highway 305.

The driver of a Ford F-150 was intoxicated when he crossed the center lane and hit a Chevy Tracker, according to the dispatcher.

The 16-year-old male driver of the Tracker and his 17-year-old female rear-seat passenger were killed in the crash. The front-seat passenger, an 18-year-old, was critically injured, the dispatcher said.

The driver of the F-150, 29-year-old William Ottman of Athens, Tenn., was admitted to the hospital with injuries. Dispatchers say charges are pending against the driver.
