Bus manufacturer Blue Bird plans to open a fabrication facility in Fort Valley, Ga., the company said Monday.
Blue Bird operates its North Georgia Body Co. facility in LaFayette, Ga., where it employs about 400 people.
The company plans to locate its new fabrication facility in the former Dan River building in Fort Valley, where the company’s headquarters also are sited.
The company plans to improve the 334,000-square-foot building, with an expected production date of January 2009.
