A pedestrian was struck and injured by a train Saturday evening in downtown Dalton, according to Whitfield County dispatchers.
The incident occurred about 5 p.m. when a freight train struck the man on South Hamilton Street, officials said.
The pedestrian, whose name was unavailable, was alert and conscious when taken to Hamilton Medical Center.
