Anderson, Moore receive SoCon honors

For the second year in a row, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga senior forward Alex Anderson has been voted Southern Conference player of the year. Meanwhile, Lady Mocs coach Wes Moore has been named coach of the year for the fifth time in his 10 seasons at UTC.

The Southern Conference Sports Media Association announced the honors Monday, five days after Anderson had 17 points and 10 rebounds against Western Carolina last Thursday for her 10th double-double of the season. The Lady Mocs (26-3) went 18-0 in SoCon play and are the top seed in this week’s conference tournament in North Charleston, S.C.

Sophomore forward Shanara Hollinquest was voted second-team all-conference.
