No charges filed in Sunday traffic death in Soddy-Daisy

No charges will be filed against the driver of a vehicle that fatally injured a 40-year-old pedestrian from Soddy-Daisy early Sunday morning, according to Lt. Phil Hamrick of the Soddy-Daisy Police Department.

Lisa A. Elsea was struck by a vehicle traveling north in an unlighted area of Highway 27 just before 2 a.m. Sunday, Lt. Hamrick said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Eyewitnesses stated the vehicle was being driven in its proper lane and within the speed limit,” Lt. Hamrick said in a news release. “There are no charges against the driver.”
