I-59 reopens following wreck

The southbound lanes of Interstate 59 in Dade County, Ga., near the Alabama state line were closed for more than five hours this morning after a transfer truck loaded with plastic materials overturned in the median, according to a dispatcher with the Dade County Sheriff's Department.

The unidentified driver of the truck was transported to DeKalb Regional Hospital with unknown injuries.

The accident occurred around 3:30 a.m. and the Georgia Highway Patrol was rerouting southbound traffic onto Highway 11. The interstate reopened at 8:49 a.m., according to a Dade County dispatcher.
