Antionette Joy Beard, 45, of Chattanooga, died Saturday, March 1, 2008.
Survivors: husband, Willie Beard; children, Anthony Jamal and Tabitha Danielle; mother, Vivian Dooley; siblings, Janice, Wendell; nieces and nephews.

Edith Bickford
Edith Webb Bickford, 92, of Signal Mountain, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2008.
Edith was native and longtime resident of Pikeville. She was a retired school teacher having taught Elementary and High School in Bledsoe County and was a member of the Teacher's Honor Society. Edith moved to Signal Mountain in 1973. She was a very active member of Taft Highway Church of Christ, where she taught the Ladies Bible Class.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, James Ernest Bickford; five brothers and wives, Nathe (Jeneviah) Webb, Herschell (Beulah) Webb, W. L. (Ruth) Webb, Frank (Miriam) Webb and Dewey Webb; two sisters and husbands, Lucille (Almer) DeBord and Leona (Arch) Douglas.
Edith is survived by her two children, Kaye (Thomas) Greer and J.H. Bickford; two grandsons, Eric (Traci) Greer and Travis (Natasha) Greer; five great-grandchildren, Melanie, Rachel, Andrew, Anna and Elizabeth Greer; sister-in-law, Nova (Pete) Roberson; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. today at the funeral home chapel with Minister Eric Greer and Travis Greer officiating.
Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Robyn Burns
Robyn Elaine Burns, 25, of Hixson, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 2, 2008.
Robyn was a native of Durham, N.C., and attended the Chattanooga School For The Arts and Sciences. She was currently a student at Austin Peay State University and was a William E. Brock Scholar in the University Honors Program at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Robyn was currently employed with BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee. She was a member of Rivermont Presbyterian Church.
Robyn is survived by her son, Trevor Gann; her parents, Randy and Donna Burns; sister, Rachel Burns (Michael) Howard; grandparents, Frank and Ila Burns, Betty Hough and Joe Hough; great-grandmother, Beth Atchley; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Rivermont Presbyterian Church with Dr. Daniel Sansbury officiating.
Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Shannon Casteel
Shannon Derek Casteel, 36, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 2, 2008.
He was a 1989 graduate of Unity Christian High School. He was employed as a first pressman at Arcade Marketing Co. and was a member of GCIU Pressman's Local 165. Shannon was an avid gun collector. He was of the Assembly of God faith.
Shannon is survived by his parents, Garland and Ruby Casteel; brother and sister-in-law, Kelly and Deborah Locke; nephew, K.C. Locke; niece, Shelley Osegueda; grandmother, Fannie Casteel; uncles, Wendell, Farrell, Norman, and Steve Casteel, of Chattanooga, Lewis Casteel, of Dalton, Ga., and Clinton Beaver, of Port Wentworth, Ga.; aunts, Mary Swanson, Clarice Giddens, Leilla Dillard, Jean Rogers and Sandy Oakley, many surviving cousins; and special friends, Phil Jackson and Patrick Black.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2008, at 2 p.m. in the Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Everett Warnock officiating.
Interment will take place in Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Chatsworth, Ga., with Arnold Brigdon, Farrell Casteel, Alvin Dunlap, Norman Casteel, Eric Chisnall, Steve Casteel, Phil Jackson and Patrick Black serving as pallbearers, with Bob Swanson as an alternate.

Donald Chaddick
Donald William Chaddick, of Chattanooga, died peacefully at age 77 under Hospice Care at Memorial Hospital, Friday, Feb. 29, 2008.
Don was born in Chattanooga to Mary Crawford McCollom and Donald Langdon Chaddick. He was raised in Angola, Ind., attended college in Ohio before serving in the Army where he played clarinet and piano in the U.S. Army Band. After his military service, he returned to Chattanooga to study music again—this time at the University of Chattanooga. A gifted musician, he taught at Cadek Conservatory, and was for years the accompanist for the Chattanooga Boys' Choir as well as the Chattanooga Opera chorus. He also was active in the Backstage Theatre.
Having worked some 20 years at the Provident Life Insurance Co., Don retired to St. Simons Island/Brunswick, Ga., where, for the next 10 years or so, he played piano—both with the Dinner Dance Band as well as soloist at the Cloister Beach Club. In 1997 he returned to Chattanooga to be near family and friends.
Don Chaddick will be remembered as a mentor and friend of the many he kept up with and cared for. He was talented, bright, gentle and kind to a fault. In his last days his good Doctors and nurses were charmed by his humor, grace, tenacity and quiet courage.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mari-Jean Chaddick Wilfong.
He is survived by two cousins, Marty Chaddick and husband, David Mansfield, of Knoxville, Steve W. Chaddick, of Atlanta, along with his wife, Barbara and their son Justin, as well as Lemuel T. "Jack" Beene, his longtime friend and neighbor.
There will be a casual gathering of family and friends in memory of Don at the Beene residence from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2008.
Then at a later date there will be a graveside service in Angola, Ind., officiated by the Rev. George Minnix.

Robert Carl Clayton, 65, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2008, at a local hospital.

Bob Ehrlich
Robert "Bob" Ehrlich, 71, a resident of Signal Mountain, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2008, in a local hospital following a short illness.
A native of Wyandotte, Mich., Bob was educated at Michigan Tech. He resided in Marion, Ohio for 10 years and then in Ambridge, Pa., prior to making his home on Signal Mountain 20 years ago. An avid golfer, he was a member of Ambridge Golf and Country Club as well as Signal Mountain Golf and Country Club.
He was a loving and wonderful husband, father and grandfather; a mentor and friend to those he loved the most.
Bob was the son of the late Robert W. Ehrlich Sr. and Rosemary Miller Ehrlich. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Ehrlich.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Leimbach Ehrlich; three daughters, Amy Mount, Jody Hunter and Sarah Ehrlich; two brothers, George and Fred Ehrlich; sister, Sheryl Golden; seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be today, March 5, 2008 at 1 p.m. in the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Bill Jackson officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Byron, David Connor, Rusty Criminger, Cutter Davidson, Ronnie Davidson, Gene Goduco and Bob Leimbach.
Family and friends will gather on today from 11:30 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.

Marcellus Geter Jr.
Marcellus Geter Jr., 52, passed away at a local hospital on Saturday, March 1, 2008.
He was born on May 26, 1955 to Willie Merle Geter and Marcellus Geter Sr. in Chattanooga. He was employed with the Mueller Co.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Willie Merle Geter; four sisters, Betty (Gregory) Dixon, Jean Woodson, Gloria (Gregory) Hunter, both of North Carolina and Cheryl Rutherford, of Atlanta; a brother, Antowan (Katherylyn) Geter; a host of family and friends.
The celebration of Marcellus' life will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2008, at noon at John P. Franklin Funeral Home.

Lisa Ann Grant, 40, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2008.
She was a member of Mowbray Presbyterian Church.
Her parents, Lloyd and Imogene Grant; and two brothers, Michael and Steve Grant, preceded her in death.

Mary Hutcheson
Mary McGill Browne Hutcheson, of Soddy-Daisy, a member of a North Hamilton County family, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2008, in a local hospital.
She was born on March 15, 1919 and was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church of Soddy-Daisy, and a member of Mayflower Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star #CD141. She was a graduate of Soddy-Daisy High School class of 1938, and a graduate of McKinze Business College. She was retired from Volunteer Sales Co. after 38 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parent, Paul and Gertrude McGill; husbands, Robert Browne and Frank Hutcheson. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Meyer; brothers, Wallace McGill, David McGill; sisters-in-law, Ruth McGill, Doris McGill.
She is survived by her daughters, Dottie (Gene) Curvin, Mary (Jim) Balinger; stepchildren, Anne (Ernest) Hand, Frank (Sue) Hutcheson; grandchildren, Teresa Perrine, Stacey (Brent) Fuller, Bill (Ginger) Curvin, Kris Flanigan, Steve (Windy) Balinger, Ginny (Steve) Fahay, Melanie Hutcheson, Sam Hutcheson; brother, John McGill; brother-in-law, Ray Meyer; sister-in-law, Marie McGill; 11 great-grandchildren; six very special nieces and nephews.

He was a very loving and caring person. He was of Baptist faith.

Vanessa Kemp
Juanita "Vanessa" Kemp, of Colledgedale, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2008, at Life Care with her daughter-in-law, Janet E. Kemp at her side.
She was born June 19, 1924 in St. Joseph, Mo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cyrus E. Kemp. She traveled extensively throughout the U.S. with her husband who was a hotel executive and worked for several major chains.
She is survived by her sons, Ted Kemp, of Chattanooga, Cyrus E. Kemp, of Monrovia, Calif. and daughter, Elinor Nott, of Napa, Calif.; sisters, Wanda Mandel, of Lawson, Mo., Sally Johnson, of St. Joseph, Mo., and brother, Tommy Mayes, of Illinois.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
At her request she entered the Anatomical Bequest Program at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis.
The family would like to thank the staff at Life Care of Collegedale for their wonderful service and friendly atmosphere.

Venner Lindsey-Allen
Venner Lou Lindsey-Allen died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008.
She was a member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lacy and Hershell Lindsey; husband, Willie Allen; daughter, Teresa Allen.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Lindsey, Diane Allen and Wanda Allen (Terry) Holland; two sisters, Callie Mae Sampson and Willie Bea Lindsey; two, Johnny and George Lindsey; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomas Jones officiating.

L.D. Miller Jr.
Leonidas D. Miller Jr., 87, passed away at his home on Lookout Mountain Monday, March 3, 2008.
He was the son of Judge L.D. Miller Sr. and Lena Kate Wills Miller from Mountain City, Tenn., who was born on Oct. 21, 1920 in Chattanooga. The family moved to Lookout Mountain in December 1920. Other siblings are Rinehart Miller Lackey, of Cleveland, Tenn., and the late Sylvia Miller Johnson Graham, of Copperhill, Tenn. and Portia Miller Wrenn, of Chattanooga. Mrs. Lena Miller passed away on September 1923. Judge Miller remarried Mrs. Edith McAllister Adkins Miller in April 1924. This marriage brought a stepbrother, Joseph P. Adkins Jr.; and a new sister, Martha Bell Miller.
L.D. received his education in local schools and graduated from Chattanooga High School in 1938. While working and attending night school at Chattanooga College of Law, he graduated with a law degree and passed the Tennessee State Bar in 1945. At which time he joined the law firm of Spears, Reynolds, Williams and Moore. Later he opened his own law firm on the 10th floor of the Hamilton National Bank Building where he practiced for over 50 years.
On Oct. 5, 1946, he married Elizabeth Jeanne Collette and their children are Elizabeth "Becky" Kate Miller Bowers, wife of Dr. Richard James Bowers, Leonidas (Micky) D. Miller III who is married to Carolyn Cofer Miller.
Grandchildren are Dr. Elizabeth Maria Bowers, Chattanooga and Richard James Bowers Jr., Detroit, Mich., Joseph "Jay" Leonidas Miller, Chattanooga and Ferne Elizabeth Miller, Chattanooga.
L.D. was a long-standing member of Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church, the Fairyland Club and the local and state Bar Association.
Survivors are the children, grandchildren and sisters, Rinehart Lackey, Portia Wrenn and Martha Bell Miller. Additionally, Robin Stone, caregiver, for the past year.
Services will be Thursday, March 6 with visitation beginning at 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church with funeral services beginning at 11:30 a.m.
The burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.

Dorothy Mae "Levi" O'Hare, 59, of Conyers, Ga., formerly of Hull, Mass., passed away on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008.
Born in New London, Conn., Dorothy was a very loving daughter, wife, mother and friend.
Survivors include her husband, George O'Hare, of Conyers; children, Linda Bond, of Conyers, Stephen O'Hare, of Kennesaw, Christopher O'Hare, of Loganville, Samantha O'Hare, of Atlanta; parents, Emily Sophia and George E. Mr. Owens was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II receiving the Purple Heart, was a member of East Lake Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Jessie Owens.

Lois Shook
Lois June Shook, 80, of Chattanooga, died Sunday morning, March 2, 2008, in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
A lifelong resident of the Chattnooga area, she was a member of East Chattanooga Church of God.

Clara P. Metternich Sodemann, 99, of Chattanooga, formerly of West Bend, Wis., passed away Friday, Feb. 29, 2008.

Louise Mae Wilcher Thompson, 86, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at a local hospital.
A native of Virginia she has lived in the Chattanooga area for the past 68 years and attended East Lake Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Thompson; parents, Rufus and Mae Oler Wilcher; one sister; and five brothers.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Whitfield, of Chattanooga, and Charlotte Johnson, of Whiteside, Tenn.; one son, Edward Sherlin, of Ringgold, Ga.; sister, Mabel Haynes, of Richmond, Va.; brother, Martin Wilcher, of Lowmoore, Va.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends today from 3 until 10 p.m. at the funeral home.

JASPER -- Emma Jane Anderson, 68, passed away Monday, March 3, 2008, in a Chattanooga hospital.
She was a member of Pine Set Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her son, Teddy Anderson; parents, Janie Belle and Charlie Owens; siblings, Rebecca Cagle and Elizabeth White, Kenneth and Oscar Owens.
She is survived by sons and wife, Gene and Pat McCallie, Marty Anderson and Jimmy and Patsy Anderson; and the joy of her life her six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; sister and husband, Rose and Charles Dawson; brothers, Robert "Rob" Owens and David Owens; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. CST with Brother Joey Newman officiating.

PIKEVILLE -- Lillian E. Anderson, 87, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, March 3, 2008.
She was born in Conyers, Ga. on April 7, 1920. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Evan Anderson, Pikeville and Horace Kinsey, Florida; son, Curtis Kinsey; brother, Clayton Corley; sister, Dorothy Boully; grandchildren, Quenton Mooneyham and Yvonne Tina Anderson.
She is survived and will be sorely missed by her son, Evan (Tammy) Anderson, Palm Coast, Fla.; daughter, Daisy Shaw, Pikeville; grandchildren, Tim (Teresa) Shaw, Powell, Tenn., Lynn Shaw, Pikeville, Layne Shaw, Johnson City, Tenn.; four great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held in the chapel of Pikeville Funeral Home at 1 p.m. CST Thursday March 6, 2008, with the Rev. Doyle Ashburn officiating.

Opal Dills
DAYTON -- Opal L. Dills, 100, formerly of Dalton, Ga., died at her home Monday afternoon, March 3, 2008.
Opal was born in Ramhurst, Ga., on Sept. 1, 1908 the daughter of the late Robert "Bob" Flood and Clora Rutledge Flood. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper N. Dills; her son, Jasper N. Dills Jr.; daughter-in-law, Jenny Dills; daughter, Anna Lee Osborne; and her brother, James R. Flood.
Opal was raised in Eton, Ga., and was a long time resident of Dalton until moving to Dayton in 2000. She was a member of Eton (Ga.) Missionary Baptist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, the Rebecca's, the American Red Cross and several garden clubs.
In the United States, Opal was the last known surviving widow of a veteran of the Spanish American War with Teddy Roosevelt's Rough Riders.
Opal is survived by her son, James (Phyllis) Dills, of Dayton; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services for Opal will be held today at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald officiating.
Burial will be in Rhea Memory Gardens in Dayton followed by a white dove release.

LaFAYETTE -- Robert Henry Hellmann, 73, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, March 3, 2008.
He was born Oct. 30, 1934, to the late Kurt and Grace Hellmann in Pittsburgh, Pa. Robert "Bob" also lived in Athens, Ga., Savannah, Ga. and Columbia, Md. He retired from Roper Corporation with 20 years of service where he worked as a Business Team leader, was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church where he was a small group leader, was a longtime Sunday School teacher at LaFayette First Baptist Church, was a Korean War veteran with the U.S. Navy, loved golfing and was a proud and loving grandfather.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Hellmann; grandchildren, Brent Jackson and Logan Teague.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes Kinsey Hellmann; two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan Hellmann (David) Missroon, of Savannah, Ga.,Tina Sprayberry (David) Teague, of Ringgold, Ga.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Keith (Donna) Hellmann, of Springfield, Ga., and Jeffrey (Janie) Hellmann, of Raleigh, N.C.; two sisters, Betty Berseth, of Lake Mary, Fla., Grace Loadman, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; brother, Kurt "Bud" Hellmann, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Kera and Kurt Hellmann, Lauren Daniel, Heather and Ashby Missroon, Luke and Lannah Teague; and several nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his father, Timothy Earl Smith; mother and stepfather, Tammy and William Greg Dickey; sisters, Natasha Nicole Smith, Amanda LaShelle Malone; grandparents, Charles E. Smith and Betty Jo Brick, all of Ringgold, Ga.; several cousins, aunts and uncles.
