CREATIVE Discovery Museum’s 12th annual fundraising event, “Amuse”um, will be at the museum Saturday from 7 to 11 p.m. It’s an event during which “adults can become kids for one night — and play with money,” museum officials said.
The “money” refers to the “CDMopoly” theme inspired by the museum’s “Moneyville” exhibit.
“CDMopoly features money-themed play opportunities for adults, just like ‘Moneyville’ does for children and families,” according to a news release.
On hand for the event will be Mr. Moneybags of Monopoly game fame and a restored vintage Roadster, similar to the vintage Monopoly game piece in the shape of a car.
“Imagine a children’s museum transformed to create a perfect evening of fun and play for grown-ups,” Sharman Sherfey, director of development and public relations, said in the news release. “There will be a multitude of games, entertainment and incredible food and drinks throughout the entire museum.”
More than 600 people are expected to attend the event co-chaired by Hamp and Jenny Johnston.
Funds raised will help the museum offer programs and exhibits to more than 225,000 people who visit annually. The museum’s goal is to raise $140,000.
