Man charged with burglary in relation to late night car break-ins in Hamilton County

Hamilton County sheriff’s deputies have charged a man with two counts of burglary of an auto and one count of theft under $500 in connection with two car break-ins reported late Wednesday night on Jonathan Road, said sheriff’s department spokeswoman Janice Atkinson.

Deputies were called to 7993 Jonathan Road at 11:12 p.m. Wednesday and found that two cars belonging to Gary Brooles had been entered, Ms. Atkinson said. They located suspect Jonas Smith after searching the area, she said.

Mr. Smith was charged after deputies discovered he had taken a duffle bag and several containers of rolled coins belonging to Mr. Brooles, according to Ms. Atkinson.
