NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — Alex Anderson and Laura Hall each scored 15 points to lead the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s basketball team past the College of Charleston, 68-53, on Sunday in a semifinal of the Southern Conference tournament at the North Charleston Coliseum.
The Lady Mocs (28-3) have now won 23 consecutive games and will face this afternoon’s Western Carolina-Elon winner in Monday’s championship game.
The Cougars (14-16) led 15-11 with about 12 minutes to play in the first half when UTC went on an 18-0 run to take control of the game for good. Anderson scored all 15 of her points in the first half, and UTC led 37-21 at the break.
Charleston came out fired up in the second half and tried to get back in the game, but the Cougars were never able to get their deficit below 14 points.
